Polar Express....look no further!
October 20, 2008: If you're looking for a train to place under your Christmas tree, look no further. First of all, this is the movie classic "Polar Express". My wife gave me this set last December for my birthday (the kid in me wanted a nice train under our tree). It was a hit with everyone, especially my 9 and 3 year old, who put it through a test and it never never skipped a beat. There are some things the decription doesn't detail that you may want to know. This is an 'O' Gauge train, it has a whistle and puffs smoke. The engine has a working headlight and all passenger cars have interior lighting. The transformer has forward, reverse and neutral (idle) controls. The only surprise really was the size of the action figures. They are scaled to the train, so the adult figures are only about 2 inches tall, but they can be affixed to the train to replicate scenes from the movie which turned out to be fun for the kids. Just make sure you know where the figures are when vacuuuming in the area! I configured the track into a square with rounded corners, which fit perfectly around the perimeter of our tree skirt. It was a very nice addition to our Christmas decorations and will be for years to come.
