A Hammacher Schlemmer favorite for years, this train carries a single child safely around a track at 1 1/2 miles per hour, and the whistle sounds at the touch of a button. The caboose has a lift-up storage compartment for a favorite teddy bear "passenger" or the essential tools of a young railroad engineer. The motor, gearbox and all wiring are in a completely enclosed case, safely away from little hands, and two sturdy footrests help children keep their feet off the floor and maintain a stable seat on board. Designed for children from 18 months to 3 years and weighing up to 45 lbs., the train starts and stops with a simple push-button control, building confidence as children learn to control the train themselves. The 23-foot track consists of fourteen lengths that make an oval (additional tracks sold separately convert the oval to a figure eight). Operates on a rechargeable 6V battery (included with recharger). High-impact plastic wipes clean with a damp cloth. Partial assembly. Made in the USA.
